The Indonesian Astronomical Almanac is an astronomical almanac compiled and published in Indonesian and adapted to meet the needs of an almanac for the Indonesian region. The book was compiled by a team of Indonesian astronomers within the Indonesian astronomical community, under the auspices of Bosscha Observatory and the Astronomy Scientific Group (Kelompok Keilmuan/KK Astronomi) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). The publication of this almanac also received support from the Indonesian Astronomical Association (Himpunan Astronomi Indonesia/HAI).

The availability of an accurate Astronomical Almanac is an important necessity for society, particularly for surveyors, navigation users, field mapping practitioners, professional and amateur astronomers, practitioners involved in preparing calendars and timekeeping for specific purposes, those preparing schedules related to agriculture and fisheries, and many others.

Today, there are numerous astronomical almanacs compiled for a wide variety of purposes. Many countries around the world publish their own almanacs. Historically, approximately four centuries ago, numerous royal observatories were established in Europe, among other reasons, to undertake the task of compiling accurate astronomical almanacs based on high scientific standards.

Therefore, in addition to addressing these needs and responding to numerous requests from various groups—for example, field mapping by military authorities, determining boundary markers using astronomical methods, and the needs of practitioners of hisab-rukyat (Islamic astronomical calculations and lunar observation), among others—this Astronomical Almanac has been compiled.

It is hoped that this almanac will be useful in supporting the needs of practitioners working in these various fields.
