The Astronomy Study Program actively collaborates with various government agencies in Indonesia, as well as international universities and research institutions. Partnerships with government agencies often involve students directly in observational and practical activities, thereby enhancing their technical skills—particularly in telescope operation. A prominent example is their involvement in Hilal (crescent moon) observations, which require precise astronomical instrumentation and expertise.

On the international front, the Astronomy Study Program engages in academic cooperation through student and staff exchange programs with partner universities abroad. These initiatives are essential for professional development, knowledge sharing, and global networking among academic staff and students.

Student exchanges are facilitated by the ITB International Relations Office, which plays a key role in advancing the university’s internationalization efforts. This office establishes and manages cooperative agreements with international institutions, providing a strong foundation for collaboration in student and faculty mobility, as well as in joint academic and research projects. Through these networks, students and lecturers gain exposure to diverse academic cultures, contributing to the advancement of astronomy education and research at ITB.
